Metal U-Ring Seals

Applications:

  • Aerospace: Ideal for low-cycle dynamic applications and static sealing in high-temperature and high-pressure systems.
  • Oil & Gas: Effective for axial sealing in valves and pipelines exposed to extreme pressure and corrosive environments.
  • Industrial Machinery: Suitable for static and low-cycle dynamic shaft seals in equipment subjected to high-pressure and temperature conditions.

The Metal U-Ring Seal from Advanced EMC Technologies is designed for static and low-cycle dynamic shaft sealing applications. With a unique U-shaped substrate, this seal provides excellent performance in extreme environments, including high temperatures, cryogenic conditions, and high-pressure systems. The Metal U-Ring is pressure-energized for axial sealing, offering good spring-back performance with low bolting load requirements.

Key Features:

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Operates effectively from -270°C to +750°C, suitable for both cryogenic and high-temperature environments.
  • Pressure Capability: Supports pressures up to 1500 bar (1500 kgf/cm²).
  • Low Leakage Rate: Achieves leakage rates as low as 1E-10 Pa·m³/s or even lower.
  • Pressure-Energized Design: The system pressure energizes the U-Ring for axial sealing, providing reliable performance with good spring-back capability.
  • Custom Shapes and Sizes: Available in round, rectangular, racetrack, and custom shapes, with outer diameters ranging from 0.250″ (6mm) to 120″ (3048mm) and cross sections from 1/32″ (0.9mm) to 1/2″ (12.7mm).
  • Durable Material Options: Available in materials like Alloy 718, Alloy X-750, 316 SS, and Waspaloy, ensuring excellent resistance to wear, corrosion, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Plating and Coating Options: Offers a range of coatings including silver, nickel, gold, stannum, copper, and PTFE to enhance sealing performance.
