Spring-Energized Metal

U-Ring Seals

Applications:

  • Aerospace: Suitable for low-cycle dynamic applications and static sealing in critical aerospace systems exposed to high pressures and temperatures.
  • Oil & Gas: Ideal for sealing valves and pipelines operating under high-pressure and corrosive conditions.
  • Industrial Machinery: Perfect for static and dynamic sealing in high-stress machinery operating under extreme temperature and pressure conditions.

The Spring-Energized Metal U-Ring Seal from Advanced EMC Technologies is engineered for static and low-cycle dynamic sealing applications. This advanced seal combines a metallic U-shaped substrate with an internal spring, allowing it to bear higher loads and ensure reliable sealing even on rough surfaces. Designed for extreme conditions, the Spring-Energized Metal U-Ring Seal provides superior performance in high-temperature, high-pressure, and vacuum environments.

Key Features:

  • High-Temperature Resistance: Operates effectively from -270°C to +750°C, making it suitable for cryogenic and high-temperature environments.
  • Pressure Capability: Handles pressures up to 1500 bar (1500 kgf/cm²).
  • Low Leakage Rate: Achieves leakage rates as low as 1E-10 Pa·m³/s, or even lower.
  • Spring-Energized Design: The internal spring enhances the load-bearing capacity and ensures a reliable seal, even on rough surfaces.
  • Customizable Sizes and Shapes: Available in round, rectangular, racetrack, and custom configurations, with outer diameters ranging from 0.250″ (6mm) to 120″ (3048mm) and cross sections from 1/32″ (0.9mm) to 1/2″ (12.7mm).
  • Corrosion-Resistant Materials: Available in high-performance materials such as Alloy 718, Alloy X-750, 316 SS, and Waspaloy.
  • Plating and Coating Options: Enhance sealing with coatings such as silver, nickel, gold, stannum, copper, and PTFE for improved wear resistance and performance.
