Fluorolon 1091 is a 15% Graphite Filled Reinforced PTFE Alloy which improves the wear properties, dimensional stability and thus reduces extrusion. The grade exhibits high heat resistance and excellent resistance to chemical agents and solvents. Excellent is dry running seal and bearing applicationes however not recommended in gas or vacuum sealing.
PTFE ALLOY 1091 has a good chemical compatibility. This material is compatible whit most fluids and gases, except Sorong oxidizers and certain concentrated acids.
PTFE ALLOY 1091 is not FDA compliant.
The mechanical properties of ALLOY 1055 at ambient temperaturas are:
Tensile Strength ASTM D638 3200 psi (225 kg/cm2)
Elongation ASTM D638 250%
Service Temperature Range ( F)
-200 to 350
Advantages of PTFE
– Suitable for use in aqueous media
-W Higher extrusion, creep and wear resitance than virgin PTFE in air and aqueous media.
– Lower friction than PTFE in aqueous media
